Hosted at restaurants all around the County, diners will enjoy presentations and lively discussions of 100 mile menus, wines and winery development in Huron County, special ingredients, food choices and just what certified organic really means.
All dinners in the series are from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a fixed price menu. Bookings are done through each host restaurant.
Cost: $35.00 (does not include: alcoholic beverages, taxes or service).
Time: 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Monday, August 24
Topic: Food Security and 100 Mile Diet - It follows a power point presentation and ends with a video. Basically it involves a comparison between a 'local-seasonal' salad and pizza with store packaged salad and pizza. Some taste testing involved. Those items could change easily as well for your event. We are giving basic points from Michael Pollan's work around ways to eat well, locally and seasonally and brings in issues of food security in the world.
